Die erste Endless Grind Session fand 1996 auf der Minirampe vor dem Geschwister-Scholl-Haus in Neuss statt. Die Blurr Concerts Crew – Johnny Bauer, Andi, Fränkie Disco und Kalle Karacho – organisierte dort Mitte der 90er Konzerte. Da Johnny auf Tour mit den Punkbands Kina und Free Yourself Bettina vom Schlachthof in Bremen kennen gelernt hatte, wird die Endless Grind Session seit 1997 auch in Bremen und seit 1998 nur noch in Bremen veranstaltet.
Die Session ist öffentlich und frei zugänglich. Es gibt keine Startgebühren und schon gar keine Eintrittspreise.
Die gesamte Technik sowie der Großteil des Teams setzt sich aus Mitarbeitern des Kulturzentrums Schlachthof Bremen zusammen. Daneben übernahmen Bettina vom Schlachthof undt Pascal die Organisation. Bettina wurde durch Chris wegen Altersteilzeit abgelöst. Lisse ist Grafikchef und setzt die Plakate und Shirtideen um.
Achim Beule wurde am Mic durch Wolfgangster und Fabrice – zusammen fast 50 Jahre Skateboarding – abgelöst und inzwischen moderiert er wieder oder eben auch mal mit Kalle. Die Plakate, Shirts und Flyer wurden und werden immer von befreundeten Künstlern und/oder Skatern wie Ali Böll, Ole Kaleschke, Carsten Johannisbauer, Florian Hofmeister aka Doc Skaterock, Stephan „Coxi“ Cox (R.I.P.) oder Michael Liskowsky designt. Daneben sind jedes Jahr Dude, Altmann und David bei der Endless Grind Session dabei und Judgen usw. Plattenauflegen übernehmen DJs wie Lemmi vom Rum Bumpers und viele mehr. Fotos oder Filmen übernehmen viele, z.B. Mike, Johannes oder Kalle.
Das Centerpiece des Streetparcours ist ein Schrottauto. Die Schrottkarre. Daneben stehen Jumpramps, Quarterpipe, Wallrides, Rails, Curbs oder was auch immer auf dem Streetfläche. Hin und wieder wird auch ein neues Obstacle dazu gebaut. Mitgebrachte Obstacles sind selten, aber wenn dann gern gesehen.
Neben Street wird noch in den Disziplinen Pool, Hochsprung und Weitsprung gestartet, wobei der Sessiongedanke im Vordergrund steht.
Die Preise werden von diversen Companies aus dem Skateboardbereich gesponsort wie Irie Daily, Cleptomanicx, Urban Suplies, Reell, Concrete Wave Cologne und früher auch Vans (Thanx Steffi), Carhartt, Converse, Rough Distribution & Santa Cruz Skateboards, Pavel Skates, Rebel Rockers und Robotron gesponsert und dazu gibt jedes Jahr die Skateboard-Medaillen.
Neben den kleinen Contests spielt immer eine Band am Pool. Dabei waren schon Quest for Rescue, Free Yourself, Painted Thin, Nothing in Common, Dogtown Boys, Cave 4, Hanns Martin Slayer, Stone’s Ramones Cover Band, Ultrafair, Adolescents, Bugbear, Parts!, Rabble Rousers Acoustic Duo, Oiro, Gestank und viele mehr.
Unter den bis zu 800 Besuchern und Teilnehmern einer Session finden sich über die Jahre immer wieder bekannte Gesichter oder echte Überraschungen wie Mike Vallely, Duncan „Wurzel“ Houlton (Ex-Deathbox-Pro um 1990, damals Deathbox/jetzt Flip), Dirk Wehnes (R.I.P.), Patrick „King Cobra“ Ehling, Thilo Nawrocki, Martin Broich, Christian Pelz, Leo Leifert, Matt Grabowski, Quirin Obermaier oder Richie Löffler. Nicht zu vergessen ist die Boardstein Crew um Arne Fiehl, Klaas Kleinschmidt und Markus Mhüller.
Außer der Endless Grind Session erscheint seit 1997 das Endless Grind Videomag nicht mehr regelmäßig unregelmäßig auf VHS oder DVD, sondern es gibt nur noch Online Clips auf unserer Homepage oder eben bei Youtube. weak aber is‘ so. 2010 erschien die letzte Ausgabe: Endless Grind Videomag #9 DVD.
Daneben gab es auch Endless Grind Skateboards, Shirts, Longsleeves und Kapuzenpullis von 2013 – 2017 im Endless Grind Skateshop in Düsseldorf – unser kleiner und bestens ausgestatteter Skateshop! Noch zu sehen in der Endless Grind Doku von Patrick Mikulski, yeah!
In nächsten Jahr findet die 27. Endless Grind Skateboard Session am Schlachthof in Bremen statt. Vielleicht sehen wir uns ja im Sommer 2025 in Bremen!

The first Endless Grind Session happened on the miniramp at the Geschwister-Scholl-Haus in Neuss, Germany in 1996. The Blurr Concerts Crew – Johnny Bauer, Andi, Fränkie Disco & Kalle Karacho – organised there d.i.y. punkshows in the mid-90ies. When on tour with punkbands Kina and Free Yourself, Carsten met Bettina a the Schlachthof Bremen and since then, 1997, the Endless Grind Session found a new home in the Concrete Bowl in front of the Schlachthof.
The Endless Grind Session is public and free, so there are no entry fees or admission prices.
The entire engineering and the bulk of the team is made up of employees of the Cultural Center Schlachthof Bremen. In addition, Bettina and Kalle organize the endless grind session. Meanwhile Bettina is replaced by Chris due to retirement of work. Lisse is head of graphic-works for shirts and posters and realizes our ideas. Achim Beule was replaced on the mic by Wolfgangster and Fab because he and Johnny got to old lo leave the couches. Meanwhile Achim is back on the mic and sometimes it’s Kalle grabbing the mic, too.
The posters, shirts and flyers have been and are always designed by Artist- and Skate-friends such as Ali Boell, Ole Kaleschke, Carsten Johannisbauer, Florian Hofmeister aka Doc Skaterock, Stephan „Coxi“ Cox (R.I.P.) or Michael Liskowsky. In addition, each year, many volunteers contribute their share to the success of the Endless Grind Session by judging, playing records or films or simply cleaning up like Dude, David and Altmann.
The prizes are sponsored by various skateboard companies like Irie Daily, Cleptomanicx, Urban Suplies, Reell, Concrete Wave Cologne and earlier times by Vans (Thanx Steffi), Carhartt, Converse, Rough Distribution & Santa Cruz Skateboards, Pavel Skates, Rebel Rockers und Robotron. Sometimes there are also rarities from the flea market in addition to the skateboard medals or cups.
The centerpiece of the street course is every year a new old car. We call it „the schrottkarre“. In addition to it there are Jumpramps, a quarterpipe and curbs on the street course. Now and then there are a new obstacles added. Besides street there are contests pool, high jump and long jump contests, where the session idea is most important.
Besides the small contests we ever had a band playing by the pool. It was Quest For Rescue, Free Yourself, Painted Thin, Nothing in Common, Dogtown Boys, Cave 4, Hanns Martin Slayer, Oiro, Gestank, Stone’s Ramones cover band, Adolescents, Ultrafair, Strether, Bugbear, Parts!, Rabble Rousers Acoustic Duo and many more.
Among the 800 visitors and participants of a session can be found many familiar faces or real surprises, such as Mike Vallely, Duncan “Wurzel” Houlton (ex-Pro Deathbox around 1990, then Deathbox / now flip), Dirk Wehnes, Patrick King Cobra “Ehling, Thilo Nawrocki, Martin Broich, Christian Pelz, Leo Leifert, Matt Grabowski, Quirin Obermaier or Richie Löffler over the years. Not to forget the Boardstein Crew Arne Fiehl, Klaas Mark Kleinschmidt and Mhüller.
The Endless Grind Session has been published since 1997 in the Endless Grind Videomag regularly irregular. Issue # 9 “skate or die trying” came out on DVD in Spring 2010. it was the last one. Now there are clip on our homepage and/or youtube.
There were also Endless Grind Skateboards and of course shirts, longsleeves and hoodies. From 2013 until 2017 there was the Endless Grind Skateshop in Düsseldorf, our small but well-stocked Skateboard-Shop. Some Interviews for the Endless Grind Documentary by Patrick Mikulski were filmed there.
Nex year it will be the 27th Endless Grind Skateboard Session at Kulturzentrum Schlachthof in Bremen. Hope to see you in Summer 2025 in Bremen!
